Vic: Man remanded in connection with alleged child kidnap
A 21-year-old man charged over the kidnapping in Melbourne of a four-year-old girla month ago has been remanded in custody.
ABELARDO RAMOS, from Coburg, is in a locked ward at St Vincents Hospital and did notappear in court today.
But in his absence, Magistrate LISA HANNAN set a date in November for a further hearing.
RAMOS faces 17 charges including kidnapping, making a ransom demand, and making a threat to kill.
Two other men have also been arrested and are due in court later today.
Two men armed with knives and wearing balaclavas allegedly kidnapped SAMARA ANHINGAfrom her family home in suburban Highett.
The toddler was released at a Fitzroy service station that night.
Police arrested the three men at their Melbourne home this morning.
