Qld: Pre-school teacher to face trial over tying up student

A Brisbane pre-school teacher .. accused of taping the mouth of a four year old shut
and tying him to a mattress .. will face a summary trial in October.

50-year-old ANNA MONSOUR .. a pre-school teacher at the Holy Rosary School at Windsor
in Brisbane's inner north .. is charged with three counts of common assault on June 15
and 16.

It's alleged MONSOUR tied the boy in her pre-school class to a mattress to make him
go to sleep during nap time .. and taped his lips to stop him talking.

In the Brisbane Magistrates Court today .. MONSOUR'S solicitor .. TERRY O'GORMAN ..

said his client will plead not guilty.

MONSOUR .. who's on bail .. was excused from appearing in court today.

A two day summary trial has been set down in the Brisbane Magistrates Court for October
30 and 31.
